Excellent. I really spend a lot of time making materials despite the fact that I am a 3rd year teacher and I wouldn't mind sharing my "stuff" and my ideas with other Spanish teachers. I also wouldn't mind getting ideas and materials back either :) For example, I just started a clothing/physical appearance unit and I really need a reading or video/listening activity that I can use for my Integrated Performance Assessment. Any ideas? The more focused on clothing and appearances the better!
ReplyDeleteHave you checked out what they have on Bablingua? They are a couple who live in Spain who make Spanish teaching videos, units, and ice breakers. You can check their website, www.bablingua.com. If you sign up for their newsletter/mailing list they will also send you monthly samples for free. :)
ReplyDeleteI am really excited about this! This is my fourth year of teaching, and I feel like I've taught Spanish I and II so many times that I could do it in my sleep. The problem with that, I get stuck in my ways, doing the same things over and over. I need to step out of the box, force myself to be more creative. Reading the bablingua reminded me of another great site, very similar, but all free. http://www.videoele.com/Curso.html I haven't used it in a while, but I NEED to. The videos are theme based, by level with native speakers of Spain. Some have pre and post viewing activities as well as transcriptions. Those are great for cloze line activities. Here is a clothing one: http://www.videoele.com/A2_La_ropa.html
ReplyDeleteAnother great Spanish I & II site, based on the text book I use, En Espanol, has a lot of speaking activities, battle ship games, tic tac toe, fly swatter (Matamoscas)etc. The U1,E2 is all about clothing, physical descriptions etc. This site uses less technology but the activites are simple and the kids love them. The teacher teaches an IB program and she has won several awards.
More to come! Adios!

Welcome to the blog, ladies! Thanks for your input, I'm going to check out those links & add them soon. Just out of curiosity -- are you able to make your own posts? I thought it would be nice to organize our thoughts thematically and then comment on them appropriately.
